Off the coast of Honolulu, Hawaii… A mysterious creature is swimming in the sea! It was actually the cat ‘Hoku’. What is the story of Hoku Hoku, who follows the owner and his wife every time they go out for a surfboard?

Hoku was a cat at the Hawaii Animal Conservation Center. The owner and his wife went to an animal shelter and adopted them, but for the first two weeks, they were afraid and did not go out. However, as time passed, Hoku opened his heart to the couple and started playing with them in the front yard, playing with dirt.

I sprayed water with a shower head to wipe Hoku’s dirty feet… Hoku wasn’t afraid of water and enjoyed the water again! As the couple swam in the front yard pool, they followed him into the water to pray, and Hoku even enjoyed the water slides.

Knowing that Hoku is water-friendly, the couple took Hoku with them while surfing, the couple’s hobby. Unfamiliar with the wide sea at first, Hoku only dipped his feet in the water. 

Shortly thereafter, Hoku, who watched the couple with their feet in the water, dived to where they were and went to the couple riding a surfboard.

But what? He hadn’t even trained, but Hoku was skillfully balancing on the board! Later, the couple made a boogie pad for Hoku to sit on.

As the couple say, ‘Hoku is very attached to us, Hoku hates being alone’, Hoku is with the couple 24 hours a day.

This family always aims to have fun outdoors, so they do a lot of exploration and experience. Hiking and going to the woods. 

The owner couple of Hoku are like couples, to those who want to join the cat in their adventure, ‘It’s great to go on an adventure with a cat, but a harness is a must for adventures!’, ‘For the cat, don’t force it. Take the fear away :)’ he said.
